We are delighted to announce the successful approval of the Cambridge Solar Farm, a 300-megawatt renewable energy project located approximately 80 kilometres south of Townsville, Queensland.
Our team played a pivotal role in this achievement by providing comprehensive ecological site selection advice and assessment support for the development application. Our efforts culminated in the project receiving a ‘Not a Controlled Action’ decision under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, allowing it to proceed without further Commonwealth assessment.
The Cambridge Solar Farm is poised to generate enough clean energy to power 123,000 Queensland homes, significantly contributing to the region’s renewable energy capacity. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 670,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent annually—the equivalent of removing over 228,000 cars from the road for a year—the project underscores our commitment to sustainable development. We are proud to have contributed to this milestone, aligning with Australia’s goal of becoming a renewable energy superpower.
